I'm putting this out there cause my foot problem nearly killed me. I had swelling and pain for 2 years after my surgery. No one could tell me why. My doctor had dismissed my feet problems as permanent. I was told to get a new job that kept me off my feet.
What was actually wrong?
I had a blood clot somewhere probably in my groin effecting the blood flow in both my feet. The swelling and pain was caused by the clot. After two years they bound my feet tightly with braces to keep down swelling and help me not pull the tendons on the bottom of my feet. They changed my blood flow tension and popped the blood clot loose. The clot went to my lungs and I had a massive pulmonary embolism. I had a 50% chance of living. Luckily I made that coin flip. I will spend the next 6 months getting better and my lungs may never recover completely. I'm hoping they do. Oh and if I had followed the get a job that kept me off my feet I might be dead.

Help
I've been suffering with foot pain for 3 yrs. I was diagnosed with Planter fasciitis and successfully managed for a while until I developed heel spurs on both feet. I went through several dr's before I found one to treat the heel spurs without just telling me your fat loss weight and we'll talk. That dr tried the cortisone shots only to have my body reject them in a painful fashion. We tried a number of inserts all of which were extremely painful. Tried the high heel idea. Dr had me walking around in high heels for months and yet at the same time trying to stay off my feet. It didn't work. That dr really didn't want to remove the spurs so after I moved I got a new dr. We did leather and cork inserts and that seemed to help. We removed the spurs surgically and it helped. I was starting to be able to get back on my feet and do some mild exercise to try to lose the afformentioned weight. When I was at work I was using a stool to sit on. One day out of the blue the management decided I wasn't allowed to sit any longer. When they took the stool away my feet failed fast. If I spend any amount of time on my feet they sweel up and become very painful. I went through a lot of anti inflamitories to eventually end up with a cream because the pills make me sick. Now I'm on short term disability and we're doing ultra sound therapy on my feet. They are improving but very very slowly and every other time we try something new my feet get worse again. Please Please if you know anything about this please post about it.
